How these levels are set

Awareness levels reflect CDC tick-surveillance and alpha-gal case data plus peer-reviewed distribution research, reviewed June 2026. They describe educational awareness, not personal medical risk — tick presence does not mean you will develop alpha-gal syndrome. Where public data is limited, a state is marked accordingly rather than overstated.
